The Machine Mission
Machine is a digital meta-tabloid covering tech, science and ideas. We are non-partisan and apolitical, committed to three principles: freedom, equality and decentralisation.
Founder Jasper Hamill is a journalist with 20 years of experience who has served as tech and science editor at two major UK publications, where his articles reached more than 75 million readers. Machine is built in the tradition of the British tabloids. We stand on the side of ordinary people, champion innovators and celebrate changemakers.
Machine will be initially funded through selling marketing services such as PR and copywriting. Contact jasper@machine.news for a full portfolio and to find out the results we've delivered for clients in fintech, cybersecurity, enterprise tech and other cutting-edge sectors.
Our mission is to develop a new model for journalism based on sharing profits with both readers and writers. We don't like paywalls. Our content will be open and available to anyone, forever.
Instead, we want to develop a mechanism called the PayeeWall which distributes benefits to readers without locking our content away.
Going forward, we want to build a readers' council to make sure everyone that engages with Machine plays a part in its future. We'll also start to look for people who can help us build the PayeeWall and build a brighter, fairer future for the media. Get in touch with Jasper if that sounds like you.
We want to build a community around Machine and give people a refuge from the noise of the bot-filled internet. The road ahead will be hard. The rewards may be few. But together, we can build a different way of doing journalism.
Let's go!
